And our in-kind donors:

Founded in 1969, AUR offers an American-style education to an international student body. Envisioned by committed individuals who believed in the power of education and cultural exchange, AUR asserts the value of an international and interdisciplinary education. AUR is proud to be the oldest American degree-granting institution in Rome. From its beginnings in a small apartment near the Spanish Steps, it is now a fully-fledged university, offering ten Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degrees and three Master of Arts (M.A.) degrees. AUR is accredited in the United States by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

During these past 50 years, AUR has made a difference in the lives of thousands of young minds, expanding horizons and offering students from around the world a place to learn and grow. This 50th year brings with it several events, including a Gala hosted by our esteemed Board of Trustees and chaired by Frida Giannini, taking place on Friday, September 27th, 2019 at Villa Piccolomini in Rome.

The American University of Rome prepares students to live and work across cultures as skilled and knowledgeable citizens of an interconnected and rapidly changing world.

AUR is a private, independent, not-for-profit institution of higher education, primarily offering undergraduate liberal arts and professional programs to degree-seeking and study abroad students from around the world.

Taking the best of the American approach to interdisciplinary, student-centered learning, our international faculty and staff use Rome as our classroom and Italy and Europe as invaluable resources. AUR’s innovative programs promote intellectual excellence, personal growth and an appreciation of cultural diversity in an international environment.
